I LOVE this book! John & Sherry totally rock the home reno/decor world with their easy, breezy writing style and ideas. I've been following their blog for quite a while and was very excited when they shared with their blog "family" that they were going to do this book. It has tons of ideas for every skill level and interest. While my current home is pretty new (doesn't need renovating) and just about totally decorated (needs a few small tweaks), I still can appreciate all the hard work they have done to make this book as user-friendly as possible and a joy to read. It's like having a good friend take your hand and lead you every step of the way. They are not afraid to tell their readers about their mistakes, but also give themselves a well-deserved high five when they are successful. I've already taken away a few ideas to put in place in my home, and I think every reader will do the same.The book is not written in a style to make it difficult to find a subject. They have broken the book into areas which are relevant for any do-it-yourselfer who wants to improve their home, so it's easy to pick it up and flip through the areas you are most interested. They give excellent ideas which are budget-friendly without appearing cheap. They know when to expend the cash to make something perfect, but also know how to find a bargain and make their home renovations and decorating efforts all the more sweet. Anyone, in any part of the world, can take their suggestions and make them work. I also love the fact that they had "guest bloggers" to contribute to the book. It was fun to see some familiar faces!You'll fall in love with Young House Love and the Petersik family as well. I wish them all the success in the world, and am looking forward to their next book. And, if the powers-that-be at HGTV are reading these reviews, you need to grab the Petersiks before someone else does!!
