I took my daughter to the toy shop a couple weeks ago to get an idea of what she would be interested in for a gift on her 3rd birthday. They had a play table set up with this and some other characters and accessories. Once she saw it, she didn't want to look at anything else and played with it for the rest of our visit. I let her select one of the character sets to take home, knowing she would get this playhouse later.She was so happy when she saw the box and shouted, "WOW! Happy! Happy!" while jumping up and down. I'm so glad the contents were not in bits and pieces. I only had to secure the two pieces together with a bar, install the light fixtures and batteries and snap the balcony railing on. She's been playing with it for most of the day since she got it. There are some very small pieces like toast and pencils that she started to chew on so I've removed all of those for safe keeping until she's a little older.This ia an absolutely adorable house! My 3 year old was begging for it and I caught it on sale for Christmas. The pieces are all wrll made and the details are amazing. Now she loves it and plays with it daily but the reason i only gave 3 stars is bc first of all the teeny tiny pieces are a little ridiculous. I understand some of the little pieces but some are insane! For example a blender came in 3 miniscule pieces, that even once it's put together is maybe an inch tall. I had to glue numerous pieces together before I even let my daughter see them. Now I could handle the little pieces (because they are just so stinkin cute) IF the house we're bigger. The house itself is much smaller than I was expecting. So to be able to actually get the furniture pieces and the bunnies inside to play and interact with them is next to impossible. The pictures show how tiny the pieces are and as you can see there are some other characters and furniture in them from other toys, but it helps to see the size! So in conclusion my daughter loves this product and I don't regret buying it, but I do wish the company would consider making the items a little larger so kids could actually play with it without knocking over a million pieces in the process!The box is very misleading. We had looked at this box at the toy store and my daughter fell in love with the pictures on the box. I decided to buy it a few weeks later from Amazon for Christmas without really reading the fine print. The box showed a house full of furniture such as a fridge, bunk bed, 2nd bed, kitchen counter and more. The box said 2 critters and I got two critters-so that was no surprise. But I was expecting to see all the other items such as the furniture which was a BIG surprise. I would expect the dolls to be sold separately from the 2 that are clearly shown on the box. But to leave out all the furniture beside a few items is really a scam. Now I've had the product for more than 30 days so I can't return. After unpacking, both my daughter and I were tearing apart the box looking for the missing furniture. In very fine print (size 4 font) at the bottom of the box it says some accessories sold separately. I needed to put my glasses on to see that. When I went back on Amazon, they showed a picture that shows it with just the included items. I wish I had looked at that picture more and not relied on the box. On Amazon, the listing says "and much more." Don't believe it. The "much more" is bunch of less than one penny tiny items like a slice of bread and a fork. I spent $99. Now after Christmas this house is $79. I would not even paid $49 if I knew it was missing all the furniture shown in the picture. I really liked the Critters set and had always praised it to other parents, but not anymore. The purpose was really not to show you what you can do, but to mislead kids and parents. I won't be buying any critters or sets anymore.This house is so great! My daughter asked for a dollhouse for her birthday and I didn’t really know where to start. I was under the assumption that the Calico Critters were good quality products, so I decided on this one. It’s the perfect size, not too big and not too small. I like that it came with two Critters and some furnishings. She’s ready to add a couch and a bathroom set! The lights actually work, you do need to have two AA batteries to place on the outside of the chimney for the lights to turn on. It was easy to assemble and everything came in perfect condition! It will be fun to add new furniture sets and other Critters with my daughter over time.We <3 this ! It would be nice if the company made add on sections . We would love additional bedrooms & bathroom. .. Although it looks great as is, we had fun painting & wallpaper the rooms. We added flooring ... It quickly became a hobby & a favorite imaginative play area as we couldn't resist adding on stores etc. It's our little village. . Calico Critterso do not disappoint! My 4 year old is practicing interior & exterior design .. We also use it as a stage while giving critters personalities & scripts. .. I especially love that there are boxes to build which helps teach blueprint reading. .. We are careful not to loose parts (teaching responsiblity) Also impressed by the dexterity factor.... Fills the senses. .This house is a Great value for all that comes with it. However, it comes with like 48 teeny tiny plates, forks, spoons, cups, food, even a mini coffee pot! There is No Way a child can successfully play with all these little items and are a real danger of swallowing! Only the Calico Critters have small enough paws to play with them, but they don't have fingers!Ithe does come with a bedroom set, kitchen table and chairs, and a working light!We love playing with it, but I took all the teeny tiny things and put them away. Definitivamente recomendado.The house and critter's and furniture are amazing, but I gave it a bad star because the house has 2 TINY led lights. You can turn on a light in the bedroom and one in the living room which is a great feature and one of the reasons I purchased this house. Well i'm on my third set of 2 double A batteries. The lights have maybe been on for an hour in total play time and i've gone through 6 batteries already!? It seems a little ridiculous since they are tiny LED lights. I don't know if i've received a flawed house but it's kinda taking the joy away constantly getting frustrated with the lights not working.
