This is a gorgeous little piece of furniture! I was a bit hesitant, given some of the negative reviews, but luckily it came intact, everything fit together well, and the finish is even and beautiful throughout the piece. Assembly was very easy. The chair looks sturdy and well-made. I love the antique look and all the detail! The cherry finish is rich and stunning. All the surfaces are polished very well and everything feels really smooth. I'm in love with this chair!!!We have the similar KidKraft spindle chair that we got for our first child, and wanted to get a matching second chair for our second child, but that one seems to have been discontinued. The Gift Mark Deluxe is the same size as the KidKraft, but is much better done, assembly was easier, the pieces fit together better, and it's a much more beautifully made chair overall. They both aim for the same visual style, but the execution on the Gift Mark is just better (little design decisions that make a difference for the aesthetically inclined parent, but won't matter to the kid). We got the first kid's chair when she was 2, and she was able to get on and off of it comfortably by herself, with room to grow into it as she gets older. It's definitely bigger than your typical little kid rocker. I like that. Our second baby started trying to climb his big sister's chair as soon as he could climb stuff, and by age one was able to scramble up onto it and sit himself down. Now he's a year and a half old and is a pro at getting on and off the chair by himself. They're constantly fighting over it now, so baby brother will be getting his own for Christmas. Given that experience, I would recommend you skip over the smaller models and go right for this bigger one. Kids can figure out how to get on and off quite young, so you'll get a lot more use out of the bigger one.While I would hesitate to recommend the KidKraft (mostly because assembly was a nightmare due to incorrectly drilled holes), I would without a doubt recommend the Gift Mark Deluxe to anybody looking for a quality, gorgeous rocker for their kid!
