I am so deep in knitting during this pandemic, and doing lots of bigger projects like cardigan or sweater. Since I saw so many youtubers use interchangeable knitting needles in their tutorial video, I ended up buying 40 dollar cheap interchangeable needle set from Amazon, which was a big mistake! I had to sand the rough rim of the needles, I broke 3 mm needle so easily, but I couldn't return it because I damaged it too much already, and I thought I can still use them by sanding, taping, and gluing them. However later, I had to buy short tip set, so I bought knitpicks set, and realize how good needles could, and should be! I was struggling with a garbage! So I started to look into better regular tip sets. I saw needle comparison videos on YouTube, and learned many recommend Lykke for the beginners, and I bought both knitpicks regular needle set and lykke at the same to compare. I know I already like knitpicks, but I loved Lykke too! So I chose to keep Lykke for the regular needle since I already have knitpicks short tips. Knitpicks needles feel more thick with the varnish coat, feel a little like plastic. Still very soft and the colors are just beautiful to see while knitting. They are great needle too. Meanwhile, Lykke feels more natural wood, very light, cushiony to knit, so smooth to touch, and makes pleasant sounds while knitting. I admit the dark gray color scheme is not the best choice for me, but didn't bother me too much. Also, Lykke's Line connection is softer than knitpicks, which is very important. As in the picture I upload, for some reason Knitpicks needles have 2 holes in it's metal part while Lykke has 1, and it sometimes bothers yarns to smoothly move along the needle.Only knitpicks' line stopper (with metal screw part) is definitely better than Lykke's(plastic), but the 2 brands are compatible, so I can use good ones!Lykke provides various length of lines, so you can choose suitable line for any projects, and you can leave the line with stopper when you work on different part. No more threading for the arm hole! Also, Lykke needle organizing bag is so functional and roomy to use! Knitpicks comes in plastic bag, which is good enough to use, but never comparable to Lykke's.I had them nearly half a year, I knitted 10 sweaters and 15 hats with these 2 sets, there was no damage at all. I am so happy with this combination, so I recommend the same to whoever looking for their 1st interchangeable needle sets. Then again, having both regular and short tips from Lykke's brand doesn't seem to be bad. So Lykke, all you have to do to rule them all, is upgrading your stopper part!Never waste your money on cheaper garbage as I did. If you are into knitting, you are going to knit thousands of times, and you will feel the difference in every stitch. I am sure I will use them with joy for a long time!
