I was looking for a sandal to use when travelling that had good support, and read on a couple of travel sites that women have highly recommended this brand for all day walking. I have soooo many foot problems! My biggest though is that I have Morton's Neuroma, which is basically a tumor sitting on a nerve between my 3rd and 4th toe. (I had surgery to remove but it grew back.) Sadly, this means I basically cannot wear closed shoes, even running shoes, without excrutiating pain. I cannot even wear socks. I even play golf in sandals! The challenge is finding a sandal that does not press on the nerve (so nothing with a cross strap either) but gives me enough support to walk long distances over cobblestones. Frankly, I don't think it exists. That said,,,,,these sandals are extremely comfortable. Great footbed support include arches and even some metatarsal support. The leather is extremely soft and supple, which makes the sandals really comfy for wearing all day, but I am not sure how much lateral support it will provide for the purpose of heavy duty sightseeing type of walking. I am keeping them because they really are comfortable and will get me through at least part of a day. They are also very attractive (I got the pewter, which is nice and dark, but not black so they will go with black, grey, brown, or navy slacks, as well as jeans) so that makes them versatile and can go from casual day wear to dinner with a nice pair of slacks. The only thing I would say is about the size. As many others have mentioned, they do not come in half sizes. Many recommended ordering a size up if you are in between. I am an 8 1/2 and very often order a 9. So I ordered both the 8 and the 9 figuring I would return one or the other. I was a little surprised to find the smaller size 8 fit perfectly and the 9's were way too big. They are a little pricey, but the quality of the shoe does justify the price, they are nicely made.
